End Snoring-Give Your Partner a Break

The cause of snoring will vary from person to person as will the frequency and volume of the snore. One thing is for sure though – snoring can be a huge problem for the snorer and everyone else living in the same household.

Ironically, many people do not question the fact that they or a partner snores. If they lived next door to neighbors who made the same amount of noise every night you can bet that they would have a great deal to say, but because the noise and disturbance is generated by snoring, it is accepted as a fact of life.

There is no doubt that snoring can place enormous strain on relationships with the sleepless partner becoming more irritable and resentful as night after night they are denied the sleep they need. In fact, snoring need not be tolerated. It need not be endured and a good night’s sleep should be available to everyone.

There Is Help for Those Suffering With Sleep Apnia Video

A video portraying the problems caused by sleep apnia.

Breaking News! You Don't Have To Feel Sluggish and Tired All The Time - Put An End To Your Sleep Apnia

Snoring is no laughing matter. Especially to the bedmate of the snorer. Snoring in truth, can actually be a symptom of a much more serious health issue called sleep apnia. Not all snoring is the same, of course. There are different types of snoring and not everybody who snores suffers from sleep apnia.

If you've tried weight loss and quit smoking and drinking alcohol without results. Or, have changed the position in which you sleep and it still doesn't help, then you may want to check with your doctor to rule out sleep apnia.

Sleep apnia is a condition in which you literally stop breathing several times throughout the night while sleeping. In some cases, the duration of an interruption is over a minute and the interruptions can occur as many as hundreds of times during any given night.

This condition can be fatal, so its important that you confer with your physician if you suspect that your snoring is more than a modest annoyance. You should also feel that your sleep is far less productive and feel tired throughout the day if you suffer from sleep apnia.

Chances are that your physician will want to try the less invasive methods before resorting to surgical procedures that may or may not be necessary in order to properly treat your case of sleep apnia. The good news is that there are many treatments available that do not include surgery.

There are three different types of sleep apnia: obstructive, central, and mixed. The first step your doctor is likely to take is to identify the specific apnia that plagues your sleep. You will hear the most about obstructive, since it's the most common type.

Your doctor and you will work out a treatment plan once your particular apnia is discovered, that will correct or minimize your apnea. Behavioral changes such as diet and exercise, medications such as nasal sprays with steroids, thyroid replacement therapy medications, and weigh loss medications, dental appliances and Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machines, which are devices that deliver constant air pressure through a facemask in order to keep the airways open are all common treatments for obstructive sleep apnea.

When used alone or in conjunction with other treatment options, these devices and treatment options while not one size fits all, can be highly effective. For those with sleep apnia, physical fitness tends to be a big problem.

The cycle is brutal with the result of the apnia being a lack of energy that would be needed in order to burn off the required calories to achieve weight loss. Talk to your physician if you're overweight and suffering from sleep apnia. He or she may be able to prescribe medication for weight loss that will assist with both. The worst thing you can do for sleep apnea is to do nothing.
